Tools : 

Alcohol 70% - sterile and dry cotton-syringes according to the required quantity-tourniquet

Steps: 

1.    Explain the procedure to the patient.

2.    Washing hands.

3.    Put the tourniquet above the elbow and fasten it.

4.    Sense the vein location, clean and disinfect the vein location and its surroundings.

5.    Choose the right place and tighten the skin under the area chosen for taking the sample.

6.    Insert the needle tooth into the vein with a slope of 30 degrees Celsius to enter into the skin first and then enter into the vein.

7.    Lift the tourniquet and take the required amount of blood slowly.

8.    Place a piece of sterile gauze over the place of entry of the vein and squeeze for 2-4 minutes until the blood stops.

9.    Remove the syringe tooth and put the amount of blood to be analyzed in the prepared tubes for this.

10.   Put a sticker on each tube with the patient's name and file number ( the department where he is being treated ).

11.   Dispose of used tools in the proper way.

Doing a sugar analysis

Definition :

It is a procedure that is done to find out the blood sugar level.

Diabetics.

The nursing team.

Tools :

Sugar analyzer - analysis strips with the same device code - sterile cotton or gauze-skeptics - alcohol-guanti latex.

Steps: 

1.  Washing hands.

2.  Explain the procedure to the patient.

3.  Wear the guanti and hold the patient's finger down and squeeze gently.

4.  Wipe the tip of the finger with a cotton swab with alcohol and suspect the finger with suspicion.

5.  The tip of the tape or the place designated by the tape is placed to place the blood drop.

6.  Pressing the finger with a cotton swab until the blood stops coming out.

7.  Disposal of waste in the place designated for it.    

8.  The nursing staff records the blood sugar level in the special form and gives the insulin dose according to the doctor's order.
