- Developing nursing staff

Staff development includes training and continuing education for nursing staff

Continuous training:

It includes all planned and organized educational activities provided by the employer to the nursing staff, which aim to raise the level of service provided to patients.

Continuing training programs include:

Guidance and counseling programs:

In it, the newly appointed nurse or who has taken up a new job is introduced to her responsibilities and duties in order to help her adapt to the new work environment.

Skills training programs:

 These programs include training nurses on the skills necessary for them to carry out their work efficiently and at the required level, such as technical skills or skills in human relations and communication methods.

Leadership and management training programs:

It trains nursing leaders and individuals qualified for promotion on supervisory and administrative responsibilities for various positions in nursing.

: Continuous education 

These programs are designed to educate nurses, assist them, and renew and develop their knowledge and skills with modern trends and new information that occur as a result of development in nursing and medical technology and sciences. Some of these programs aim to prepare nurses to work in specialized journals.

The teaching methods used in continuing training programs include:

o       lecture

o       Viewing (presentation and interpretation)

o       Discussion

o       Simulation (role playing)

o       Audio-visual means

It helps to achieve the volume of nursing work, the optimal use of the nurse’s time, determine the responsibilities and authorities of each member of the nursing staff, methods of communication between employees, and develop and develop nursing work at the lowest cost, least effort, fastest time, and highest efficiency.
